go-to bring-along dish

salad before toss
When I was at Michael Smith Inc, Michael would occasionally have lunch brought in for the office and when his chef did the menu it was sure to be amazing.  A salad that he made had the entire office buzzing and it has since become my go-to bring-along dish.  The dish that is easy to make, no cooking involved (just chopping) and can be made ahead of time and adapted for however many people you need.  Plus people think you are a culinary genius because this dish is greater than the sum of its parts.  Everyone needs a recipe like this in their arsenal.

1 bunch of tuscan kale, cleaned, stalk removed and chopped (about 4 cups)

1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped black olives
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup crumbled feta
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup dried cranberries
Toss above ingredients

1/4 cup good olive oil
1/4 cup of vinegar
teaspoon of dijon mustard
Whisk above ingredients and pour over salad to taste.

When I first got this recipe, it was a list of ingredients, so if you want more or less of something try it!

Great piece at a great price, I wish I had a truck to go get it right now.

I am crazy about channel detailing and good ball feet.

Cottage Family Room IDESIGN

Here is one of my recent IDESIGN projects.  The newlywed clients needed help with their family room and wanted a bit of color with neutral upholstery.  They had a beautiful armoire from the groom's grandmother (about the only thing that bride wanted to keep).  The space is small, so we used a petite sofa and two chairs to not crowd the armoire (that houses the tv).

Graphic Gold Lamps

I remember in junior high when gold was out - but now gold-toned in interiors looks so much richer to me than any silver shade.  Here are my favorite graphic lamps in this glistening rich color.  Perfect anywhere.

Holy Moly People

(Updated photo after tree removal)
On Tuesday morning two trees crashed into my yard and crushed my car, plus we have been without power since Monday evening about 11:30pm.  Then Wednesday morning I left on a pre-planned trip - so that is the reason that you have not seen new blog posts recently.  My goal is to get one to you by Monday.  Have a great day!
