$30 to Fabulous continued...

Before

Remember this post, about this DIY? Well in the original post the dresser did not have hardware yet.  You can't really see the hardware in the image, but I choose Ribbon Ring Pulls.  I think that it looks substantial and gives the piece the importance it needed.

You can also see the lamp that I covered a how-to in this post.  When I purchased the lamp, I thought the Robin's egg blue was pretty, but didn't go in the room at all.  So I spray painted it a dark indigo blue that looks much richer.

  1. Love it. I was thinking about putting two of those "dressers" together to create a dresser for our bedroom, but I think they're too short for a dresser. I might use them in the guest bedroom instead (as bedside tables) since the layout of that room is odd and doesn't provide for any furniture save a bed, bedside tables and a chair... that way, guests can have storage if they need it. And, of course, I love the orange. :)

  2. They are great as night stands. But too small to be used as a regular dresser. I will look out for something that may work for you.

  3. I gave that hardware some thought from the other post, and I like what you've done, looks great. So you painted the glass lamp dark blue, I would have never thought about that! Clever!

  4. That dresser is the hardest working dresser in blogland! You really can not beat it though....someone turned it into a Dorothy Draper chest today over at Marcus Design. Loved the pulls you used.
